10.0 - Coaching

About this Section

As a not-for-profit sports organization, coaches are the most visible members of Special Olympics Ontario volunteers. Volunteer coaches are vital to weekly training programs and the regional level of competition. Coaches may also accompany teams and athletes to Provincial, National and World Games.

Coaching with Special Olympics is an extremely rewarding experience. Brand new volunteers will be asked about their sport interest during the personal interview with the local Community Volunteer Coordinator. Head Coaches are responsible for expressing their needs to the CVC to ensure that a suitable volunteer is placed with their club.
